I am addressing now all BMW fans and riders from USA.

I am currently doing Internship at the BMW Motorrad in Germany and writing a Master Thesis about Dealer Development Strategies and Customers´ Satisfaction in USA.

I'd bet that forum readers are more likely to self service than BMW owners chosen at random.

Even those of us who don't mind necessary shop prices often find dealers way too distant to even contemplate for routine stuff and BMW chasing out small dealers with the corporate look campaign of a few years back requiring substantial investment hasn't helped.

Self service section needed an option for official BMW parts purchased at local dealer, not just online.

It would be interesting to see your completed thesis, or at least the survey results.
