    Powder Coating Rims - Wethead

I just moved from a 2008 FJR in which I had the rims powder coated black (and the bike was black) which really made the bike look nice. Actually- it made it look just like the 2009 model (black on black).

But- I plan on doing my 2016 RT (San Marino Blue) with black rims as well.

First -Does anybody have any pics showing a blue wet head RT with black rims? I know this is not very likely- but wanted to ask.

Second- how do the tire pressure sensors mount to the rims? Are they removable/re-installable after I powder coat?

Can't help with a picture but I can tell you the TPM units can be removed and reinstalled.

Wrong color bike but at least you see how the black wheels look with the silver engine.

Nice looking Lee. Is the bike yours?

Not mine. I did a Google search for a "San Marino Blue R1200RT with black rims picture" trying to find a picture for you.

    What about dark grey wheels?
We had a similar color wheel on the K1300S and found it was a good color for not showing road or brake dust.

Can you squint your eyes and pretend some?
Not the correct blue and not a wet-head, but...
It is an RT and it's blue and the wheels are the spiral spokes instead of the old snowflake styled. (wheels off my R1200R)
And they are black powder coated.

What would it cost to have this done? It looks really good.

When I did my FJR rims, the PC work was ~$300 and the mechanic work (remove tires, rotors, wheel bearings -- and then reinstall) was another $200.

That's about what I paid, putting in new bearings/seals etc...

Those black wheels looked better on my 1200R where you could see them a little better.
