Will 2008 seat fit a 2009

What does the dealer say? Call the parts department of one that has lots of experience with non-new bikes. Two that come to mind are Bob's BMW and Max BMW.

On realoem.com, the second number is shown as a two-tone color, aluminum/black.

The first number is not found. It is common for BMW parts to have molded-in numbers which do not correspond to part numbers.

Click on the part numbers in the link above and it will show you the production dates of models that used the part and any superceded part numbers.

AFAIK, the hexhead and camhead GS and GSA used the same seat shapes and pans (with some color changes) and should interchange.

I've noticed that too. It may be that the molded part number is just for the component it appears on. For example, the seat pan alone instead of the the whole seat assembly with pan, foam, and cover.
