R1100 hazard flashers

While working on my buddy's K-bike on the (narrow) shoulder of a gravel-paved stretch of the Al-Can a couple of weeks ago, we speculated on how nice it would be if the 4-way hazard flashers on my R11 would work without having to turn the ignition on.

Has anyone come up with a mod for that?

Paul is (of course) correct. Once activated, you can shut off the engine and the 4-way flashers will continue to flash. This is done to avoid having a passerby flip your hazards on while you are away from the bike.

Just tried in on my '03 R1100S. Well I'll be a two-headed monkey, it works!

Someone at BMW was thinking the day they came up with that idea. :thumb

I think one is fortunate to get an owners manual when purchasing a used bike, or car for that matter.......I swear some people must keep them as souveniers

Yeah, well - I didn't get the manual with the bike, but I DID plop the $20 for my own copy, and have read this multiple times...and totally missed it.

Jeez.

Thanks Paul & all!
