Anyone experience the painful concept of arthritis in the left big toe? With the gear shift assist on my 2014 RT, i am not looking forward to shifting.....really painful and taking the fun out of my long afternoon rides in upstate NY!

Probably Gout. Check with your Doc. Mine comes and goes. Rumor is that it is aggravated by beer drinking. I reject that theory, but it may be true. Google is your friend.

Can't be beer, that's a foodđź‘Ť

I've found black cherry extract and limiting alcohol reduces occurances and severity

I ran a lot in my younger days. Developed arthritis in my left big toe...pain was pretty bad, especially a shooting pain when that nerve was pinched just so. Ended up having surgery and now have a couple of screws in that toe...no more pain, but also little flexing of that joint. See an ortho MD for an assessment.

I have gout in left big toe. Have had lots of pain . The best was , for me , is a couple pieces of celery every day . I know some who take celery pills . It does work

+1 on that....Check with Doc. Could also be diabetes which is nothing to fool with. You want to get control of either one right away.

Have had similar issues for years. Finally went to doc and had blood work done. Oddly, uric acid level was right in the normal range! So.... Not gout. The rectification is, lose weight, reduce booze, work out, and try to rid your diet of sugar and inflammatory foods - google that. So far I'm down 20 lbs (had to buy new clothes), and my golf game has improved! Im super happy with all of the results. 52 yr old male......"if I'da knowd I was gonna live this long, I'da takin much better care of myself"!
Good luck. Man, trust me when I say, if I can do it.....anyone can!
