The 21st Annual Damn Yankees Rally will be held August 4-7. We are proud to announce that we are running a MotoGymkhana on Saturday Afternoon. The Rally site is an old fashioned town fairgrounds at the top of a mountain. A large grassy field, sheds, barns and buildings, a kitchen, hot showers, and a pavillion. You can set your tent up in the covered sheep or goat barn, or out in the field! Saturday night the Heath Fire Department will serve a chicken BBQ which is included with the rally fee. The YB Kitchen will be open with hot food , soft drinks and snacks for sale all weekend. Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning and "Church Lady Pie" in the evening while it lasts.
The roads around the fairground are twisty and scenic. Attendees can choose to head north thru Vermont, visit the Berkshires, shop in Northhampton, Brattleboro or Amherst. Numerous farm stands, maple barns, sugar shacks and other local farmers markets abound. Lots of people plan a ride around the coffee pot, which starts steaming early in the morning and runs all day. If you want to volunteer in the kitchen, work at the registration desk, lead a ride, or help clean up you'll get the opportunity to make new friends.
For those new to BMW Rallies this is a good one. It is central to many good roads in all directions, and you can set your tent up and relax around the campfire. Dana Lewis leads an impromptu jam session Friday night, Paul Provost and his band play Saturday night in the pavillion. Please watch this page as the rally continues to evolve right up until it happens. Bring your friends, your dog, your guitar or other instrument.
The YB Store will be open, featuring the latest YB Fashions, early arrival Thursday night is ok, $5 to camp Thursday the 6th
We will be running a modified Moto Gymkhana course on the field. Moto Gymkhana is a rider skills challenge combined with obstacles and challenges.
First Prize is $100. Second Prize is $25. All entrants will be scored and the winner published in the Boxer Shorts.
