Rear end protectiiom

I rode with the cases on in case something happens. The cases protect the rear of the bike. I did have a little fall last year and it worked. The case is pretty beat and the latch broke.
Doessomeone make a "crash bar" for the rear of a 2002 1150RT? Not the big gaudy one I have seen on PD bikes but something that will protect the rear so I can ride without the weight of the cases.
