    Lithium battery.

I bought one for my '09RT, didn't last 12 months. Called the company for replacement and was told to send it in and THEY would decide if the battery was defective. Takes about two weeks they stated.
I took it back to the dealer and got some small trade in on a new BMW battery. The dealer doesn't sell the Lithium battery any more.
I would stay away from Lithium for now, needs more development before using in motorcycles.

Shorai experience on my 2005 RT

I've thought about buying one for my 2015 RT but not sure if one is available. However, I did have one on my 2005 RT and it lasted me more than three years. Much better experience than with the BMW battery. The difference in weight was substantial and I was very happy with the Shorai performance.

I'm not buying into lithium battery on a street bike, if weight mattered to me I wouldn't carry all the tools and I'd remove my tail bag. The cost of lithium is crazy and the cold weather start... I've been getting 7 years from Odyssey.

I haven't found a replacement battery for the Wethead RT. Sounds like Shoria has one... Anyone found an AGM replacement?

Fwiw - cold weather starting isn't an issue, it's just strange, key is to turn on the bike (w/o starting) while putting on your gear, THEN start the bike. (Counterintuitive).

I've been riding for four years on my Shorai down to 11f and once I learned proper technique it worked like a charm.

    Have a good one,
    Dave
