Transmission (Gear Box) Oil Change - 2016 R1200 GS Adventure

Hi,
I've done all the 650 miles oil service to engine and final drive with no problems at all.
However, I can't find the drain plug for the transmission. The filler cap is easy to find on the left side up but there is no drain plug to be found...
I was wondering if this new model uses the same motor oil for the engine and gear box, since the very bike manual doesn't even refer to exchange the gear box oil...
Can you please help?
Thank you.

Isn't the 16 trans all one now with the engine oil now ?

1200 GS Transmission / Engine Oil

I see post above stating the engine oil and tranny oil was ONE (common) in 2016. What year did this start. I have a 2014 wethead and see no easy wat to drain tranny oil.

2013 model year for the R1200GS and 2014 model year R1200RTs were the years they started the common engine and transmission. Only one drain plug.

I suspect the “Fill Plug” being referred to is the access port for the TDC locking tool used during a valve check. Located high on the engine/trans case, left side.

Best,
DeVern
