Mounting Rotopax fuel cans on a GS?

Mounting the Rotopax cans on a newer GS with large TT style panniers. Most folks mount on the rear of the pannier, but logically if mounted on the front, the weight distribution would be better....what are the pros and cons of this arrangement....apart from reduced leg movement potentially when one has to stick a leg out for stability?

This is a matter of opinion, but I think the best place for Rotopax are on the rear rack in the pillion position (immediately above the rear wheel).

Putting the packs on the pannier fronts really limits your leg movement.

ps => have you seen Giant Loop's new Gas Bags? These should be much more placement flexibility.

$100/gallon! :dance

BMW has a 4 point strap that attaches to the top of the OEM pannier and I use that to hold my Rotopax. I also put some some rubbery shelf paper on the Roto to keep it from scuffing up the top of the pannier. I have used this both on and off road for years without issues.

Careful with Rotopax - a friend is in litigation with them. I do not know the full store.
