HELP - Need the name of a good independent BMW bike mechanic in NYC

Hi folks-

My son lives in Manhattan, East side to be precise. He rides a 2011 650 Thumper and has an electrical problem that is causing his new battery to go dead every couple of days. A significant PITA when you have to then remove the battery and recharge it.

He earlier took it to the local BMW shop and the mechanic did a cursory inspection and announced that the battery was 'fine'.

This is going to require a smarter tech.

Can anyone recommend a good independent BMW tech in the Big Apple?

Hopefully some locals with chime in. I did a search for NYC and came up with this older post...it's on Long Island though:

Also this:

This is a listing of Airhead shops, but some service other models as well. Possibly a call to some in the area might have other recommendations:

AH - if he's branching out of NYC to surrounding areas, I have a chap in Monmouth County ("down the shore") NJ who I can recommend. PM me for contact info. He's generally good with electronics, something many mechanics aren't.
