    Pins at every rally..?

I've been to several rallies now and have gotten a decal at each, and in most but not all cases a patch and a pin. The patches I don't really care about but I am putting together a shadowbox of Barley's adventures and don't have pins for the Sedalia and Salem rallies.

Were they made for those years? If so, and you have one you could part with, I'd appreciate a PM.

Thanks, Lee! We had a lot of fun at the hot rally. Chuck Manley took one look at my vicious dog and assigned us to security duty.

I have a Salem Pin & Patch you can have.

Do you want me to mail them to you or I could meet you in Hamburg, NY in July?

I see from your signature line that Tulliver, has assumed copilot duties. How is Tulliver's training coming along? Is he ready to assume full copilot duties?

Never been to a rally, don't have pins, I'd give you both if I had em, sounds like there is no shortage of good people willing and capable of stepping up to the task for your request, reaffirming the virtues of the forum.

Many thanks, Darryl. It looks like both bases are covered now but Tulliver and I would love to meet you in Hamburg.

RR - It looks like Tulliver's training has come to a halt this season. We rode yesterday and he did very well on a 20 mile loop. I need to modify the tonneau cover as the zippered hatch was properly positioned for Barley, but Tully is a much taller dog. He compensates by parking his bum in the unpadded nose where I load the camping supplies. But the good news is that yesterday at every stop sign I could hear his tail thumping against the fiberglass...so he appears to be enjoying himself!

I'll never force a dog to do something against his instincts. Ice tonight heralds the arrival of winter weather, but come spring we'll do some progressively longer rides with plenty of exciting breaks, shared meals, and overnight camping. With luck and patience he'll catch the bug. If he does, oh the wonders I can share with him! He's already proving to be a pretty good snuggler.

Pete, your pin is in the mail, USPS, and you should have it in 4 or 5 days.

Looking at a map, it looks like we were within 10 miles or so of your home this August.
After getting off the Grand Isle Ferry we took 15 to Walden Station then south on 215.

And you didn't stop..? Next time, okay. And be sure to take the dirt portion of 58 from Montgomery to the east. It's the northernmost of Vermont's legendary gaps, and terrific scenery with little traffic.

Pete, you think you could make it down to the Fontana getaway in April? Vermont's a long ride, you think you and Tulliver could meet me half way. I've already booked my campsite Monday of that week, April 18th.

We haven't been on that Gap. One of our trips back there in 79 or the early 80s we took a dirt road over one of the Gaps in Vermont but it was further south.
We use to stay with my Grandparents, then latter on my parents in Woodsville NH and made day trips out of there.
This trip we went to my 40th reunion in Wanakena NY at the New York State Ranger School, then we went to Woodsville to see some High school friends.

You live in a great area

I was looking at that one, but it just won't happen this time. April is when the snow winds down and the weather will still be very unpredictable up here. If I had an experienced co-pilot sitting next to me it would be doable, but Tulliver is just now learning the ropes. He's a good dog, and starting off with a trip that long just wouldn't be fair to him.

My plan is to start taking him on day trips to exciting places up here, leading to some overnight camping trips, and in July to the rally. If he does well at Hamburg I'll know he could handle longer trips. If not, another puppy would be joining our pack.
