Transport Canada Recall

BMW issued a recall on the G650GS DAKAR, and G650GS modelshttp://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/detail.aspx?lang=eng&rn=2015378

On certain motorcycles, the engine control unit software which regulates the idle speed may have been incorrectly programmed. As a result, if the clutch lever is engaged, the throttle is closed and the engine is operating at idle, the engine may stall. An engine stall could lead to a loss of stability of the motorcycle, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will update the engine control unit software.

I do not know. I reported what and how the recall was listed in the Transport Canada feed.

The name thing isn't on you at all. It's written that way in the report. Seems like a significant oversight to list a recall with the wrong model name.

After a bit more digging I don't have a firm answer to your observation. What I suspect it is related to how Transport Canada's data base is set up and pulls information for releases. Yet another glitch in the change of thumpers from F to G identification.
