Army Pfc. Jessica Kwiatkowski leaned forward as she walked against the wind and rain. As a Tomb Guard with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, she walked her twenty-one steps in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in the middle of a violent rainstorm on the evening of Saturday, July 29, 2023. Amid the storm, she walked her post without the ability to see.

The Rolling Stones- still know it's only Rock 'n Roll....at 80

Nice piece on The Rolling Stones this Morning, on CBS Sunday Morning.

First playing the USA :usa in 1964, the band seems to have escaped many of the pitfalls that other bands have suffered.

At now 80 years old, especially with the Rock 'n Roll lifestyle, Mick and soon Keith still have the chops to keep going.

Hopefully time is still on their side.

From WBZ 4 Boston-

BOSTON - John Dunleavy has worked for TD Garden and the Boston Bruins Foundation for the last decade.

"It's been 10 years. The best 10 years of my life to work here," he told WBZ-TV.

John has Down syndrome and with the help of the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, he secured that job right out of high school after an internship with them. He does everything from administrative work to community events and even giving the best pep talks to the Bruins alumni team.

Good Samaritan drags Texas police officer to safety during freeway shootout, video shows

HOUSTON, Texas -- A man risked his life to pull an injured officer to safety during a gunbattle on a freeway in Texas Saturday morning.

The Houston Police Department said the 29-year-old officer was shot in the leg and is expected to fully recover.

HPD Chief Troy Finner is crediting that to one good Samaritan, John Lally, who told ABC13 Houston his heroic story, and video shows a dramatic close-up view of the harrowing moments.

Lally was wearing a body camera that captured it all. The video shows bullets flying past him as he dragged the injured officer across the freeway and behind a truck.

5 for Good: Hanover family surprised with Disney trip after WCVB viewers support charity

There is a some commercial “clutter” associated with channel 5 Boston but it still a nice story-

HANOVER, Mass. —
Baking Memories for Kids is a small charity that gifts trips to Walt Disney World to families with children who have serious medical conditions.

Since 2012, founder Frank Squeo has surprised more than 280 families across the country with trips. He started the effort after beating a grave cancer diagnosis.

Through November and December, he and a team of volunteers bake chocolate chip cookies to raise the funds necessary.

Last year, Squeo surprised the Bragga family from Kingston with the trip of a lifetime. The idea is to allow families with children who are ill to create forever memories.

Kaitlyn Bragga said memories made with her daughter Lucy, who has complicated medical challenges, continue to help her nearly a year after their Disney trip.
