New Mexico 120

Texpaul

Lost again
Can anyone give me the road conditions (paved, gravel, ruts, etc.) for New Mexico 120 between Ocate and Black Lake? It looks shorter than taking 442 (which is a nice ride) down to 518 to get to Taos. But Goggle Earth shows it (120) as unpaved for some portion so curious about the unpaved condition. Thanks in advance.

It is paved for a ways from either end, but there is a knarley 9 miles stretch of hilly, winding, dirt/gravel. I would ride it (carefully) with my 250 Sherpa but not on anything else we own. And, with recent rains it will be muddy and rutted.

We are in Angel Fire so pm me for "how to find" instructions.
