My name is Tim and I bought a R1200RT-P. I bought it from an independent dealer who picked it up at an auction. I called the Police department that owned it and spoke to the sargent who was in charge of the traffic enforcement. I asked why would you get rid of a bike with only 13,500 miles on it. He said, "Tim have you ever tried to turn a motorcycle rider into a police officer" I said I can see that might not always work. He said, "have you ever tried to make a police officer into a motorcycle rider" again I said that I see your point. Needless to say that I got a bike with really low mileage. All the code 3 had been removed and I took out the bad spare battery that wouldn't charge up. I changed the oil, air filter, and tyranny fluid. It's been great so far and is much lighter than my old goldwing 1200 that I sold 2 years ago. I look forward to the forum posts and maybe connecting with others. In closing, when my wife said, "honey why don't you buy a motorcycle".....I kissed her and said "sure"....
Take care

Tim

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the club and the forum - what a wonderful woman you have there. I usually have to wear mine down to get a new bike!
