Making eye contact helps

Went on a 120 mile round trip along the bayous today and encountered a ~5' alligator on the shoulder looking like he was contemplating a quick dash across the road as I was cruising toward him at 60 mph. I made eye contact with him and he stayed put. Good gator.

70 degrees and sunshine made for a good day down south, y'all.

The same works with drivers. If you look them in the eye, you at least know that they see you. It still doesn't mean they won't dash out in front of you. In fact, they probably will, but at least this way they had to look the person they murdered in the eye before they killed them.

:)
