I am trying to get info on what it takes to mount and use my gps iv from my 1600 GTL on a new to me 2007 1200 GSA I just bought . There are so many different parts out that seems confusing.

BMW sells a mount for that GPS.. it just costs money. Goes on the handlebar clamp bolts. Then you can buy a NAV-IV cradle from them, it will plug right into the bike making it easy to swap from bike to bike. It isn't horribly expensive for what it is..

+1 Put this setup on my RT & GS so I can use the GPS interchangeably on either bike. Works great.
