Yup. 1st was apparently mung in the ignition switch, no lights, power, nuthin' Hosed out with contact cleaner, must have been enough to get through the lock to the real switch below. OK ever since.
Fuel pump went out about 40 miles south of home in May, 5K ago, trailered, and Paul Glaves taught me a trick to resurect the fuel pump, which worked fine until last night. Shiney new one will go in this weekend. Fingers crossed... I'm wearing out my friends, especially those who ride HD...

Although the hack was bought from a true rider!
Gracie, the Gray "C" was bought w/ 2500 miles. It's got over 36k now.

Wonderful round-town kind of ride.
Just got my 2004 R1150R, ...she'll be out on the open road soon.

Here's my 2006 R1150GSA with 42k miles on it

Recently finished the Alaska leg of my North American Tour. Here are a few photos from the trip so far.

Along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, we encountered so snowy spots that a little persistence, leg muscles, and determination saw us through.

The bike decided to follow the rut, while I took another line, resulting in a broken leg. This is Death Valley. I had to ride about 40 miles to the pavement, and another 40 to the hotel before getting to the doctor the next morning.

My girlfriend joined me for the Alaska leg. This is us on the Dempster Highway just south on the Arctic Circle, which we didn't make due to the road being washed out.

Here's a pic of my new (to me) 2004 R1100S as I traversed the country from Louisville, KY to my home near Seattle back in May. Weather forced me to go through Texas, Arizona, etc; it was a long ride!

While not my bike, this rental GS was my first oilhead ride.



The venue (Vancouver to Whistler) was so amazing that I began a BMW search immediately. One week later I had this in my garage. Not a GS, but not a bad start.

Nevada72 -- "Not a bad start" indeed! Looks like that 1100R is already farkled for some long-distance riding. I see it has spoke wheels; does it have knobbies, LOL? It would probably take you anywhere you would be likely to go on a GS.

Are you in Puget Sound region? Ride from Vancouver to Whistler is an excellent ride, just have to watch out for those falling rocks...and falling cliffs. Ouch!

And...are you from Nevada? I'm originally from Fallon (and my football number was always #72!)....

For those times when you really, REALLY need to make it to the south 40 quickly.

Nicest piece of farm transport I've ever seen. (Though my brother's '38 John Deere tractor is pretty sweet!)

Hi JACK!

It isn't an oil head but it is an oil head style boxer (6 cyl.)

It is loads of fun for a cruiser (ie, peg/chrome part dragger)

Newbie Picture

I'm a new member and wanted to show off my '01 R1100R. Picked it up in Birmingham, AL four weeks ago and rode it back to Chicago over the weekend. I previously rode an '83 Kawasaki KZ650H; the BMW has a better ride and slightly more torque.

The ride from Birmingham to Paducah, KY was great. Going through the back roads of Northern AL and Central TN is a treat and finishing up at northern entrance of the Land Between the Lakes National Park would make for a great weekend ride. I never knew that the Feds had both Elk and Bison herds there.
