24K Service - awaiting sprocket?

I am due (well, now 800 miles overdue) for the 24K service on my C650GT, and after three weeks the dealer is still waiting for a sprocket that comes out of Germany. They say they have no way of finding out how much longer it will take to receive this part - is anyone else having (or had) this problem?

I ride a lot (bought this one January of 2014) and don't even have a car - I don't want to wait too long beyond the 24K service interval but if BMW is the cause what can I do?

Out of curiosity did you change the belt and when did you do it? Now you are doing the chain, are you having the front and back sprockets done, if so I am nearing the time should I order them now and wait. If they come in I can just put them on the shelf that way they are here.

Sprocket

Have the service done, it is more important to have the oils changed for now. Have them check the sprocket and chain, then you will know if you are worrying needlessly or not.

When I originally wrote this post there was still no word on the arrival of the sprocket - but it did arrive and I got the service done a few days later, in late March. Pricey! I created a separate post about that subject...
