Machinations At Markel Insurance

Just got a quote from progressive. Very similar coverage (still checking into medical levels) is less than half what Markel has charged the past three years. Not thrilled about Progressive but I have a local agent so feel better about it.

Sorry to hear about what happened to you.

Progressive raised my rates 40% the year before and it seems some of my riding friends in AZ got the same treatment. This past october they went down to below what they had been before the raise in rates. Funny thing was that when they raised them, I couldn't find a cheaper rate.

What I don't understand is why your ins. co. wants you to talk to Lex-Nex. L-N is not your insurance company. Sounds like passing the buck to me, and that'd be enough reason for me to switch.

I've been with State Farm since I was 16. (A long time.) Some complaints and yeah, the rates seem to creep up every year no matter how long it's been since I made a claim or got a ticket, but they've come through for me more than once, so I guess I stick with them out of loyalty.
