Don't be tired of the question, simply respond with a "my wife thinks so".

I did have one tell me that BMW riders all looked like their Mom dressed them.

I count that as a positive
Work is the curse of the riding class

The studies to increase your odds of motorcycle survival have been done. More will be done. Suggestions will be made to help keep us safe. New equipment will continue to help our odds of surviving a crash.

I don't care what (they) wear? (Who ever (they) are?) I care about what I wear? I am responsible for me. I live or die by my choices. (They) have the right to do the same. As long as (they) are not breaking any laws, I don't want to waste any of my time worrying about them.........

    Cool

I was in a bad wreck last summer. I was riding on a Arctic white, R1200RT while wearing a white jacket and white helmet and a driver didn't see me next to her and changed lanes into me. Even with all the conspicuous gear, I was not seen. But it was that conspicuous gear that I credit with saving my life.

I ride with guys that ride Harleys. They barley wear any safety gear, those little brain catcher helmets and sunglasses for eye protection. They have asked me "Aren't you hot in that stuff?" My response has always been "Proper safety gear is what saved my life. I wont let sweating or not looking cool dictate my safety."

Jay - I've adopted my pal Omega Man's response to "Aren't you hot in that stuff?" ...which is: "I'd rather sweat than bleed."

Something I read in a motorcycle magazine many years ago, “ helmets are for people with brains to protect”

I can answer that question. The answer is none. When we gather, the subject of other makes of bikes just does not come up often, if at all. I fact, my Harley friends are very complimentary on my 1200GS.

Back to the OP, the target audience is all or mostly non riders. They are not likely to be interested in inter brand bickering. What they need is a good description of how riding differs from driving and what drivers can do to make riding safer.

    Truth!

As a friend once asked me when I told her I rode an R11RS.
"Yes, but, what kind of Harley is that?"
