Post a Photo of your K-bike

New to me and in wonderful shape. I picked this one up Saturday and plan on putting a few miles on her soon. Just fricking beautiful.

I have one just like it - same blue, 1992. I constantly get approving comments when out on a ride. I think you will as well, and you are really going to like this bike. Congratulations! :dance

Thanks to 98Lee I got a set of City Bags. I feel they look excellent. They are proportional to the 1994 K75. And, they make the bike so much more narrower in the garage. I still have a cargo carrying capacity that is very convenient.

I shot these pics at the sailing marina on the Potomac River, Virginia side, Daingerfield Island. The K bike got some attention.

Cheers,
Bill

The Blue Max

Thanks, I've only owned it for a few years - but they have been good ones. Moved up to a K1300S.

Very nice Bill. I wish I could find one like that. I thought i wanted an S or an RT,but I think I'll look now for a K75C or T and sell my R80/7.

Just wondering about the changing lic. plate number. Three of the pics I viewed had 3 different variations of the ***213 plate.

Nice :thumb

I remember the black and silver special edition with polished forks and also the red and black RS.
Is yours a custom paint?

Your memory is accurate, Lee. I've got the original sales brochure from 1996.
I suspect the reason his roundel is missing is because he had his resprayed.

trusty ol' 86 K100

FBFC0B79-DCA5-4EB4-AA4D-4D5BAD59908A.jpegMy first dip into the BMW ocean, she's a smooth runner, hardly feel and engine vibes at all. Not going to win any races, but she is reliable. I have replaced a leaking brake cylinder and the original clutch cable (almost snapped while in downtown traffic!) but overall a well-mannered bike. Ive upgraded to an oilhead recently, so i'll pass her along to someone who most likely will turn her into a bobber. Windscreen is from Australia, new last year BMW 1986 K100.PNG
Better pic here

I always thought BMW needed to have another model of this bike as a more "naked" version to show off the motor.

My 1985 K100RS. First BMW bike. Old photo removed with updated one.

Upgrades: Remus exhaust and newer style footpeg brackets for mounting the Remus. Spiegler brake lines. Eastern Beaver headlight relay kit-I wired the low beam cut-out through a rocker switch on the front panel so that I can switch it on/off. Laminar Lip to reduce buffeting (it helps but doesn't get rid of it entirely). Cooling fan override switch wired through a rocker switch on front panel. FlatRacer belly pan. K1100 side stand/center stand assembly. Race Tech cartridge emulators and springs. YSS rear shock. ABS engine case protectors. Power plug mounted on coil cover for my OptiMate dual USB charger.
