Post a Photo of your K-bike

Hey Bikerfish,

Nah, I removed those panels for maintenance and never put them back on. I personally like the look of a naked bike, and one of my favorite things about the K (other than the engine!) is the look of the tank. Never putting the panels back on is my first feeble attempt at customizing the bike. I'm trying to work up the nerve to replace the instrument cluster and headlight. The speedo doesn't work, anyway! :laugh

On a road trip from California, to Canada, I 40 to New Jersey to Ottawa, the UP and and over to I 80 home.

+1 on kgadley's thoughts. I used to have a K100RS so I always appreciate seeing a nice one, too.

Is that key fob something that came with the later model RSs or is that possibly something you fabricated? I like it! Sure beats the red cable tie I have attached to my key at the moment.:blush

Thanks guys, I thought it was about time I joined.

It's a 92, I bought it in Ohio back in 2007 at VM Days.
Some guy pulled in with it on a trailer. It had a sign on it that said $1800 or best.
I didn't even bother to ask him if it ran, it was beautiful and I had to have it :brad, he took $1500 (hey ..I still had to dicker) and I put it on my trailer.
He told me that 5 years after he bought it, he drained the fluids and parked it for for the last time in his heated garage and there it sat, (too many speeding tickets).
It had 9229 miles on the odometer.
Got it home, put in new fluids, a new battery, some petrol and it fired right up.
I couldn't believe it, if it would have been a Jap bike (which I've been use to all my life) some more trouble shooting would have been in order before the motor would pop. It was my first beemer and I haven't looked back.
I was hooked on German ingenuity :german

Some guy was selling them on ebay, you have to cut half the head off a standard key, slide it on and tighten it up.

Thought it was kinda unique :thumb

I bought one on E-Bay also. I let it go with the K-75 I sold last summer. I'd like to get another. The guy makes them himself. I don't know if he's still making them or not.

K-bike key

Did some searches on ebay but no luck so far... Any chance you can remember/find out the guy's username?

PS ... I just checked and they want $20 for the Roundel plus $39 for the key holder plus shipping. That is a bit high. mine came with the logo included.
