I tried to chrome everything and something went horribly wrong.........

Yeah, you might want to skip the tires and windshield next time. :laugh

June Lake, CA, 2007

My first tour on "Frau 'Berta" in July 2007, on the June Lake Scenic Loop, south east of Yosemite. The water was...exhilarating!

1985 K100rs & 2004 K1200rs

I'm the 2nd owner of the '85 model and purchased it 13 years ago with only 1,728 miles. Added the K1100RS lower fairing & bellypan at that time plus a complete repaint. Has ever factory BMW option offered for this bike. The bike now has 21,360 miles and is a sweet ride.

I've sold the K1200 since the photo was taken. It was a "left over" from my now defunked dealer who let one of his ATV guys move it, resulting in a "drop". Repaired the scratch on the fairing and added a nice "red" paint job. The bike was originally black, with lots of scratches on the top of the "tank", where boxes and stuff were being stored on it.100_0524.jpg

Just one pic for now

Hello to all,

IÔÇÖll start a new thread when it arrives (~ two weeks). This forum has been very informative and I hope to contribute in the near future. This will be the first BMW cycle I own, though IÔÇÖve admired for years.

Oh my, that looks like it's a beautiful bike. More pictures, please!

All things considered I believe it is. More pictures will be posted once it arrives, promise. You can see the cracks above the 1 and there are other areas which are worse. I wasnÔÇÖt looking for a show bike, but a K1 I could enjoy frequently without being overly worried about the inevitable scratches and road pepper. The paint is an Audi pearl white and I hope to correct some of the more apparent battle scars, but at this time a full refinish is not my intension.

I have a 1990 blue & yellow K1 which is a lot of fun to ride. I don't put a lot of miles on it (I bought it with 11,000 and it now has 15,000 after 5 years), but it sure is a conversation starter.

K1s Are Cool

Hello to all,

Sweet K1! I've never seen a pearl white one. Yes yes, more pics please... :whistle

I have a 1990 blue & yellow K1 which is a lot of fun to ride. I don't put a lot of miles on it (I bought it with 11,000 and it now has 15,000 after 5 years), but it sure is a conversation starter.

Hey Greg, why don't you let me borrow that K1 of yours for a year or so--I'll break it in for ya. :stick

Picked up my 2nd K1 (1991 blue/silver) a little over a year ago and have put more than 25 K miles on it already. Even rode 'er up to the RA in Michigan a couple weeks ago (~3300 miles in 9 very fun days) 'Course, I don't have a huge stable of beemers to choose from either, so I'm "forced" to travel on the K1. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. :bliss

Can't visit "da UP" without stopping to eat some of these.

Didn't see any other K1s at the RA rally or on the road the entire time. I know they'e out there, but c'mon, doesn't anyone else actually ride the darn things any more? :dunno

Sure would be nice to get a few K1s together at the Klassic K Campout next month. Anyone...anyone...Bueller? :ear

K1s at the Klassic K Campout

I'm planning on being there if something doesn't come up.

"Nice Bike" and "Beautiful" (Bike names)

The first bike is from my 2005 USA tour and the second one is my latest - I toured with that one in 2007.

I live for my K.

"Nice Bike" = 2003 K1200RS, "Beautiful" = 2006 K1200S

I can see clearly now...

Check it out, a brand new OEM windshield for a 21 year old bike. The old one did not fare well during last year's cross country trip, in addition to the yellowing, it is covered in spider cracks. My dealer found 2 news ones in the system, I bought one of them.
