    Schuberth/BMW Communication System Microphone Cover

I lost 2 of the foam microphone covers from my BMW Communication System on a Schuberth C3 Pro helmet. I was using the wind-skirt thing on the flip up piece, and I believe it was snagging the covers, causing them to come off. I contacted Schuberth to order replacements, and they told me to contact BMW. My dealer was not able to find any.

I found some on eBay, using the description "Black Foam Covers - Windscreen for Lavalier Lapel Microphone, 18mm x 10mm". I got 5 of them for $1.49, and free shipping from China is included! They fit better than the original ones!

I got a 4 pack of "Tie-Clip Microphone Windscreen" part 33-4006 from Radio Shack. Way more expensive, though, cost me $1.97 I tied it on using dental floss and what's called a constrictor knot (Google it, really handy to know) It's been there for 4 months of daily riding.

I too have the BMW Communication System on a Schuberth C3 Pro helmet. I haven't lost the microphone cover yet but good to know it's a problem. I'm more upset with the lousy sound, I tried new speakers from Torx but no help, just ranting that they can't have it figured out for the price one pays. Talked into it at dealer (2014--1200RT) and would go another route on the comm system since I mostly listen to music.

I'd have to agree on this. It is a high price to pay for mediocre sound quality. My old Zumo, earbuds, and Arai had much better sound at half the price and never needed to be recharged or re-paired.
