My r 1100 rsl just turned over 41k, 3rd owner, no issues until now with the clutch slipping. Is this a typical time that the clutch needs attention? I know everyone's riding habits are different but I'm sure it was a contributing factor to clutch issues.
Thanks Ken! My previous post had the wrong quote. ...haste makes waste! But you got the idea.Since you are the third owner, there's no telling what the previous two did.
No, 41k is not a normal point for a clutch replacement. I did mine on the same model when I lubed the splines @ 80k. Decided to check the clutch while there, and low and behold one side had about 1/3 of the friction material missing. did not slip, no problems shifting.
Have you tried just adjusting it by the manual yet?
