Managed to break off locking tab on primary plug coil on 2011 R1200GS

G'day,

Tonight, I managed to drop the left hand primary plug coil on the concrete garage floor while removing it, resulting in the locking tab being snapped off of it. The coil (part # 7715847-02) retails for about $135 at Max BMW according to the fiche.

Rather than spend that much, I thought I would try and invent a solution to replace the missing locking tab on the coil to keep the small wiring harness from vibrating off.

Just wondering if anyone else has managed to break the locking tab and invented any kind of a lash up solution?

Thanks for any ideas.

I am thinking of doing something with a small zip tie(s).

Best regards,

Dave McDougall
