BMW ownership at 40,000 miles

Bike is a 2010 R1200GS. After 40,000 miles I have gone through 3 head light bulbs and a bunch of tires. It has never been in the shop except for a recall that took 30 minutes. I've done 2 valve checks and found them well within specs. I replace the FD oil when I change the rear tire. It's one of the few bikes that are extremely easy yo maintain. This is my 5th trouble free BMW. I'm not sure I'll live long enough to wear this one out but if I did I'd might consider the new S1000F. That's all.

Nice post!

You have to love those camheads....The best twin BMW (motor/FD/suspension/frame/brakes) they ever made. My seat did suck tho.:banghead

I had a 2005 GS before this one (60,000 trouble free miles), I replaced the stock seat with a Sargent right after I got it. That seat is now on my 2010. Some are happy with the stock seat, I wasn't one of them.
