1986 k75 oil/water pump rebuild

Hi again

Since getting my valve clearances adjusted a few months ago, I followed the wonderful instructions in the forum and changed my fork oil, moved to Shell Rotella T diesel motor oil and am about to tackle rebuilding my oil/water pump. After changing my oil about 2 weeks ago, I have been seeing a small drip coming in the front near the weeping hole so suspect I am seeing early warning signs.

I purchased the pump rebuild kit and was advised that the impeller may need replacing also as the new seal may not fit the old impeller blade. Just to make sure, I investigated the forum and came across something about the old 16 toothed impeller shaft vs new 32 toothed shaft. Do I have to swap the impeller shaft also when/if I change the impeller blade?

I am making sure I have all the necessary parts after I do the dismantling activity

Thanks

Sunny

Hi Sunny - I bought my rebuild kit from motobins and had to also buy an impeller blade - 41177 - I did not need to replace the shaft. It was a pretty straightforward project. Mine is an '87 K75s
