fix for lazy fuel pump retaining bracket & 'normal' in tank fuel question 1994 k75S
replacing the fuel pump in my 94S the rubber vibration damp and white plastic mount bracket seem very tired.
i am using the pump from here: http://www.highflowfuel.com/ag-80794.80668.87398.83568-1994-bmw-k75s-efi.html which i chose over the napa pump option hoping it would be easier than making that grommet out of fuel line and chaining the terminals (novice mechanic here but trying to do this repair myself)
the pump just slides through the rubber retainer as currently set up, and i'm not sure how secure the white clamp is supposed to be, but mine doesn't seem to convincingly engage with the slots where it should.
any suggestions shy of buying the $70 rubber thing from maxbmw to shore up the fuel pump?
also, i started the bike with the fuel cap off and i noticed some gas dripping down from the top right corner of the tank while its running, is this a normal overflow thing or might i have a loose fitting somewhere?
thanks for any sage advice.
