Shift Lever Adjust with Shift Assist - How?

2013 K1300S "30 Years", which has Shift Assist. I would like to lower the shift lever about 1/2". The BMW Repair Manual DVD explains how to do this for a manual shift lever, but does not explain how to adjust the shift lever for a bike equipped with Shift Assist. My BMW dealer's service department suggested how it might be adjusted, but they did not seem to know for sure. Given that the Shift Assist mechanism is a little pricey, and I've heard of people breaking or bending it, I'd rather know what the "official" BMW procedure is rather than experiment and try find what works.

So, does anyone here know what the BMW official procedure is for adjusting the height of the shift lever with Shift Assist, or barring that, know of an accepted procedure that works without damaging the Shift Assist mechanism?

Call Pandora's European Motorsports (BMW/Ducati/Triumph Dealer) in Chattanooga, TN. I have a 2012K1300S from them with all the gadgets including GSA. They know how to adjust it and were going to adjust mine downward. Then I bought new boots and the shifter ended up being perfect where it was. Brian is the Service Manager. I have a 2015 GSALC with quick shift and I adjusted mine lower to accommodate a lowered foot peg. No problem. there is a little adjustment in the toggle system and if that is not enough simply cut off part of the bolt then re-assemble. Do this a little at a time as a few threads makes a good change.

You do not need to cut anything.

If you can not get enough adjustment in the threaded rod portion above the lower ball cup, all you have to do is loosen the bolt that holds the shift arm on the shaft, pull the arm and rotate it by one tooth on the spline. This will probably be a little too much so you'll have to adjust the ball/cup end on the rod, out a little to get it perfect.
