Cleaning solutions for ultrasonically cleaning carbs?

Anyname

Active member
I have an ultrasonic cleaner large enough for a carburetor, but the solutions I have are for brass, steel, anodized aluminum and jewelry. The one for anodized aluminum specifically says it is not for uncoated alloy. Any suggestions?

Soapy water.

Soapy water or Simple Green. I mix a little bit of both together. It's the "ultrasonic" that does the actual cleaning. Solution just helps along.
Better than mixing some sort of toxic cocktail and then heating it up. I use the small one that looks like a tiny french fryer. And preheat it and run it for a bit so the Simple Green mixes completely and evenly with the water. Pretty amazing.

Our shop uses Simple Green and water, then warm it up to ~150 degrees before letting the scrubbing bubbles do their thing.

Had great results with 50/50 Simple Green / Water - the ultrasonic cleaner really did the trick for my carbs!

Whatever happened to the ole fashioned soda blast, boy i am getten old. or maybe i just dont know what ultrasonic means,,,:doh
