52 liter top case

I read in another magazine that the old 52 liter RT top case will fit a 2014 RT. Has anyone verified that?

Don't know about a 52ltr one, but if you are talking about the silver top case that fits the 2005 ~ 2013 R1200RT's (which is 48~49ltr), then yes, they fit perfect.
Zero issues, just get your Dealer to re-key it to your new 2014 R1200RT keys.
I am using my old 49ltr silver top box, which came of my old 2005 R1200RT Hexhead, on my new 2014 R1200RT after we re-keyed it. 100% compatible on the new bike and absolutely no modification required.

2013 top case on 2014

Here is proof:

I bought a new pre-2014 top case for my 2014 because it costs half as much as a 2014 top case.

It is lighter but does not have the electric lock. It keys fine to the 2014 ignition key.

If anyone is not in a hurry, I ordered a brand new top case (pre 2014 style) with lock cylinder for under $600 including shipping on eBay. You tube showed me the way to key the lock cylinder to my motorcycle key and I am good to go.

It did take 28 days to be delivered to the US from Germany, but if you are patient, this is a pretty good deal. It was cheaper than many of the used cases I found for sale.

+1

No central locking or light, but cheaper and nothing to unplug when I remove it. The deluxe locking case requires that you remove the pillion seat to disconnect the electrical cable.
