2014 Mileage Tracker

bullet

aka Johnny Hammerlane
Yesterday I went for the first ride of the 2014 season. It was a high of 6C and a low of 1C.
Didn't matter, the Gerbings jacket and pants plus the heated seat and grips took the chill off.
The roads were dry and a little sand covered in the center but I kept the bike in the track and
rode 273km from home to Bobcaygeon then along Pigeon Lake Road to Emily Park, County Road 14
to CR17, 16 and 37 to Buckhorn, 36 and 28 to Apsley, 28 north to 118 east, 503 and 507 to 36 and
back home. Betty, the bike, was reluctant to start but, once running, rode flawlessly the entire way.
It's a wonderful feeling to have her back on the road for another season of fun and adventure.

So I read the post from last year's 2013 Mileage Contest and propose the "2014 Mileage Tracker".
My 2010 R1200 RT started the season with 90,126 klix on the clock and the count is on! Yippee!!

Though I've been commuting most of the winter, I looked down at my speedo and caught it right at 17000 miles. It's going in for the 18,000 mile service, soon enough, and I may just trade it in on a '13, or '14 RT. We'll see what they have laying around at the dealer.

I'm too lazy to join the official mileage contest, and I like this much better.

I reset the avg MPH and avg MPG after every refill. Maybe I should start doing it on a monthly basis. I suspect that is more interesting. (more numbers to be OCD about.:blush

Last year I kept track of how long my low beam light was lasting, 6,971.6 miles per bulb. Or 196.3 hours per bulb. I,m much better now. I used to count the split wood when I was stacking it.

Now that is funny!!! I guess my low beam is lasting a lot longer than yours.

47.0 mpg
3,655 miles for May

I think the mpg is a little optimistic; I believe it's more like 44.5. The ride this morning showed 49.0...I wish.

42.0 avg. MPG This may be wrong now that fuel gauge can't be trusted. Left me out of fuel. Seems like it says there is more fuel than in reality.

3,282 miles for July
20,200 year to date

30,301 since September 25, 2013

I went back to resetting the MPG and MPH after each fill-up. OCD was too much to monitor that and try to hit higher numbers. :blush

14000 miles since January of 2014.... A new personal record for me.

2013 F 700GS (Red, the fastest color)
Average MPG 52 (disappointing)
14000 mile valve check showed all eight valves out of spec on the loose side.

Helens 07 R12R & my 09 GSA July 16-Aug 18- 9100 miles.

no flats , no mechanicals on trip as my GSA rolled into 104K and Helen's hit 90K.
my readout claimed 42mpg...
