Need a trailer

Hello to all. Never posted before, but been a member for several years. Love all the information and the MOA.
I need to trailer a bike to Dallas, TX in mid April and was wondering if anyone would rent me a trailer. I live in Lodi and would need the trailer for about a week. The bike in question is a K1600GT.
If anyone is up for the offer, would you please contact me at: rdferris@tds.net or better still, phone: 214.577.4397.
Thanks for listening,

Robert Ferris

You can rent a 5x9 motorcycle trailer from U-Haul.

Hey Lee, thanks, but U Haul wants $548 to go one way, and that's the better part of purchasing one.

Hey Londoner, I'm retired and have some time on my hands in April, so I'd be glad to ride it down for you and catch a bus back...:)

Thanks for the offer, but I need to be with it as I plan to ride to see my brother while the wife visits family in Dallas.

Not trying to dispute your word but...are you sure ? My local U-Haul center quoted me $18.00 p/day????

No worries Lee. Yes I checked on line, and then phoned them and the price was that high. It's a thousand miles from here to there.
I've used them many times for other rentals, so I was shocked at the price.

I've found that it's the "one-way" part of a rental that is the croaker. Somehow they need to get the rental unit back in "position".

Yeah, I had trouble with one way pricing in the 70's, was supposed to drop the truck off in Indiana and left it in Seattle instead. $700 was the fee. My employer was not too happy about that.

It's been a long time-maybe 20 years ago, I guess but I paid around $450 for my "Gator Trailer" new w/o floor(I did my own by choice). Get a HF wheel chock, bolt it down & in business for all uses- mines in the woods full of firewood right now.

Ouch, that's a bit much.
Last year a friend used a small U-Haul bike trailer when he bought a old Guzzi in Minnesota. I don't remember the charge, but it seems like it was reasonably for the round trip from Plano Texas to Minnesota.
For some reason they would not let him rent the bike trailer one way and he had to pull the empty trailer to Minnesota empty.
Here's a picture of it in our driveway.

It looks like the small U-Haul bike trailer may be too small for a 1600GT.

I've rented one of these before for my CBR1000RR. My RT will fit on this one, so there should be enough length for a K1600GT (7-1/2 ft). I didn't realize that U-Haul would let you take this particular trailer out of state.
