The Point of Entry for riding your Motorcycle to Rocky Point is at Lukeville, Arizona just across the Border from Sonoita in the State of Sonora in Mexico. You will need your Passport and Mexican Vehicle Insurance. We AZ Beemers highly recommend http://www.mexpro.com with an Office in Flagstaff. Great Service there!

Day One: We had a wonderful three day and two night trip to Mexico, a SAFE and FUN trip. AZ Beemers rides to Puerto Penasco in Sonora Estado three times a year: Fall, Winter and Spring ? just too hot to ride to Rocky Point in the Summer!

We had six couples on 6 Motocicletas and occasion was to celebrate my Girlfriend Donna's Birthday on Saturday, February 22nd: Lots of great fun, drinks and laughs.

Sonoran Sky Resort was our lodging and was a beautiful hotel on Sandy Beach.

We highly recommend Sonoran Sky Resort, but it's $200 a night; next door is Playa Bonita Hotel with a great restaurant on the site for only $100 nightly.

That is definitely good stuff Don.
However, if I ride with one other person, I feel like I'm riding in a crowd.
And I have a rule, both here and in Mexico, I never stay in any structure of more than 2 stories.
We are more to the west here, so Baja is the big attraction.
But if there is anyone who has not gone, they should definitely go to find out what it's like.

Day 2: One of our favorite AZ Beemers beach front dives is Manny's Cantina, you can't beat a place that has this wonderful welcoming sign above the door:

Great weather for riding and hanging out at the beach. Melanie, Donna and Loretta rented horses on the beach and Melanie galloped down la Playa!!

My Donna telling her horse El Diablo she wasn't going to put up with any nonsense, horse was named Azucar (Sugar)!

Breakfast was at Max's across the street from the Harbor, delicious Camarones Omeletes! It's early in the shrimp season and there's nothing like seafood that was hauled out of the ocean just the night before. A great, new to AZ Beemers, tequila was discovered. Don Julio 70 Anejo Claro! It's a clear (claro or plata) tequila that has been aged (anejo). Usually, plata's are not aged because the oak barrels colors the tequila. Great sipping tequila for Desayuno.

Rocky Point Mexico - Arizona's Number One Beach! Day Three: One of the factors making Rocky Point, Mexico a Number One Beach of Arizonans is the ease to reach it: Only 225 miles and four hours from Phoenix. Roads in the beach areas can be very sandy, so watch your speed and braking distances.

Another draw to Mexico is the beautiful beaches and pretty girls, here is AZ Beemer Melanie on the left and Loretta on the right.

John and Loretta launching a kite, other beach options are parasailing, water raft tows and ultralight flights over la Playa and Puerto Penasco.

The food and drinks of Mexico are a great draw and a large part of why we AZ Beemers love Mexico, Don and Donna waiting on a taxi ride to dinner.

There are at least 50 great restaurants in Rocky Point, this jus happens to be The Lighthouse. But we AZ Beemers also like Gammas' Seafood, Lily's on the Malecon, the Captain's Table on the highest peak in town. Previously mentioned and they have fantastic food: Max's, Manny's, Pollo Lucas and Play Bonita.

For February of 2015 we're riding to Mazatlan, Sinaloa Estado for Donna's B-Day. All details will be posted up this Thanksgiving here on the Forum.
