After a very long break, I picked up a non-BMW last fall (it was a really good deal). Although I thoroughly enjoyed riding it for a few months, I just kept wishing it was my old K-bike. So I sold the non-BMW (handled like a pig; hint, hint ), made some cash on it and started looking. I thought I'd try a boxer this time, even though there were some really good deals on older K bikes. I found this 2005 on my local craigslist, and I'm in the process of buying it now:

Although I can't wait to get it, I'll have to wait for a fairly decent day to ride it home. It's still frigid and I don't have heated gear.

I just hope I don't regret not getting an older K...

Congrats on the bike and welcome! I went from a K1200GT and a HD SuperGlide to my current R1200RT. I like it very much, actually so much I finally sold the Glide as I usually took the RT even for day rides.

Hope you enjoy yours!

Thanks! This forum style is one I'm familiar with; likely the same software.

I think I'll pass...

I'm more worried about either driveway than the roads. It's only about 40 minutes away, and I do have gear for a short hop.
