K1300S vs R1200R

I know I know, apples and oranges... but I am wondering if anyone has had both the R1200R and K1300S and can compare them. I do love my R but the riding position is a little too sit-up-and-beg.

Thanks,
BH

Apples and oranges for sure .

My wife has both, well a K12S not a 13, and they are definitely different . She prefers the R's body positioning, especially on longer rides, but LOVES the K's ooomph. In that area there is no comparison!

She has had some neck issues and the K just aggravates it on long windy days. The K def has you looking up more from the R's neutral position. I notice that after spending a lot of time on my GSA and then strapping on the K12. Her K also has bar risers and she notices the mild difference when she rides my stock set-up and leans forward more. We swap back fairly quick as she prefers her set-up.

The R has better protection as far as wind management and hers has GS style handguards that would look wonky on a K-S. She has tweaked the ergos with bar risers and a R Mayer saddle on the R and at 5'7" does not have her complaining on being to upright. She prefers the sidecases on the R, the K's accordions are OK but aren't the best looking item on the bike.

The R doesn't attract the attention the K does either:brow

Thanks very much for the reply. This kind of confirms some of my suspicions. Of course I may still need a test ride!

Cheers,
BH

You bet. Don't take a test ride if a) it's a bike you're going to really like, and b) you can't afford it. ;)

Too true! Well it turns out that there won't be a K13S in my area for a few months. By then maybe I will come to my senses!
