Lost Seat Key R1100R

I have a 2000 R1100R. Lost my keys. Have another set but does not have the key to unlock latch that holds the seat in place. Is this a universal key or bike specific?

Thanks
Dave

There is no universal key that I know of. Try 'raking' your key in and out while gently turning.
If that does not work, find someone to pick the lock and when open remove the barrel and orient the tumblers to match your key.

The same key should fit ignition & seat unless one was changed somewhere.

As GS mentions, do some "wiggling" and a bit of graphite spray as the other key may be correct, just needs some help.
The common issue is with second hand side cases that didn't have the same key...either you lived with it or reset the tumblers as mentioned

A proof of ownership and a VIN at the dealer should produce a key.

Thanks Steve

The previous owner had a separate key on ring for seat. Don't know why but assumed was different than ignition. Ignition key worked. Been tearing house apart for three days for no reason. What you get when you "assume".
