    Regional Road Food!

Tell us about the food you've found or stumbled on while on the road. Let us know what places and food you go out of your way to get back to. Some of you take pictures, too...that would be nice to see as well. Sometimes it's about the journey, sometimes it's about the destination. Heck, sometimes it's about the food!

Be sure to include the city and state in the post title...that makes it easy to spot something interesting, nearby, or on the way.

Here's a map that has been compiled over on Facebook showing places that others thought were worth the stop:

    Good job!

I've been to several of these restaurants and they were wonderful. Excellent choices. I never had the 6lb. burger at Denney's Beer Barrel Pub but I've never seen so many items on one menu. By the way, how much do you weigh?

You'll notice that the themes for my selections are BBQ, German, fish sandwichs or reubens. As that great philosopher Popeye said, "I yams what I yams and dats all dat I yam."

Big W BBQ - Wingdale, NY

Went to Big W BBQ in Wingdale, NY this weekend. Heard about it somewhere on STN, can't remember the thread. Anyway, it was very good and is worth the ride to check it out. there's some real nice riding in the area too.

Some good pastries and pizza up the street at Cousin's if you're interested in a little dessert after BIG W.

No affiliation, just spreading the word on some good eats.

I'll add a second for the Toymaker Café. Just one thing.....it is located in Falls Village, Conneticut (not Massachusetts).

    Breakfast/Luch/Brunch in PORTLAND, Maine

If you're in the Portland, ME area:

be there EARLY, as the line is well formed by 9AM... Bintliff's, across the street from the main post office. Order the veggie hash. http://www.bintliffscafe.com/

That and the BreaLu Cafe (Breakfast/Lunch) http://theportlandbreakfastclub.blog...a-lu-cafe.html

Finally, at at any hour, Becky's Diner on the working waterfront http://www.beckysdiner.com/

I will likely be shot for giving up these Maine secrets. Remember that I did it for your sakes.

    Port Clinton Hotel

Just up the street from Hermys BMW in Port Clinton Pa. If you go away hungary, it's because you didn't eat what they gave you. Nice folks, huge portions and a good variety of bar/diner food on the menu.

Wendt's Pork Palace, Selinsgrove, PA. The roast pork is excellent, and make sure you get their onion rings! Some good roads nearby include Rt. 125 from Tremont to Shamokin, and Rt 850 from Reed's Gap down to Marysville.

The sandwiches at the Craftsbury General Store in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom are delicious and generously sized.

For a sitdown meal in north central Vermont 10 Railroad St in Morrisville is hard to beat.

Both of these places would be pleasant stops on your way to or from Quebec

Look's like PA is leading the pack with good places to eat.

One more if you are in Allentown, find you way to
    WERT'S CAFE.

    Smile Like BBQ?

Yup, I know the best BBQ is found down south but I happened across this place in Sturbridge, Mass... It's called BT Smokehouse, on Route 20/Main Street about half a mile west of the intersection of Rt 20 and Rt 131. It's on the right if you are traveling west and you have to be looking for it because its a small place. I had the brisket the few times I've been there and it was consistently really good! If it's any indication, it always seems to be crowded... Enjoy!
