1991 K100RS Tires

I am going to put new tires on my 1991 K100RS and would appreciate any input from members. I currently have Metzler Z6 on the bike, 120/70 17 front and 160/60 18 rear. My riding consists of 25% short hops around town and 75% on the open road, mostly two lane, about half and half solo/two up. I am leaning toward Metzler Z8 or Michelin Pilot 3, but would consider others. I don't ride extremely hard in the twisties, live in a fairly dry climate, and am looking to get decent mileage. Thanks for any advice.

lee thanks for the heads up. After posting for advice earlier today, I looked at my Z6's and the rear tire had metal bead showing on the tread. Wanting to ride as soon as possible(gotta ride) my impatience got the best of me and I ordered a set of Pilot '3. No sooner had I done this I read your reply. This is a good thing to know! I decided to try the Pilots because I had the Z6' on this bike and have Metzler 880's on my 1985 K1ooRS. Just thought I'd try something different and see what I thought. Thanks again!
