Does it matter? I'm on my second float on my 2011 RT. It will be replaced shortly as it is failing after only 4000 miles. I honestly don't think it matters if you have a float or strip. Although, I'm the only person, to my knowledge, that has posted about a defective float.

My 2012 RT with float system has 0.5 gallon less fuel capacity than my 2008 with strip. I assume a different tank and could check realoem to verify.

The quick answer is no.. even if you replaced the tank, the electronics on the bike wouldn't support a float assembly.

BTW - useful info is the year of your bike.. helps in lots of cases to make a more accurate guess at an answer.

Thanks for your input . I read a long and instructive thread on advrider. I think I will bypass the strip gauge . You are right about indicating the year of my bike . It is 2005
