I haven't seen any mention of this. The awesome Evergreen Air and Space Museum is located approx. 30 miles north of the Rally in McMinneville.
As part of their extensive collection, there are some pretty unique aircraft including:

The Howard Hughes Spruce Goose
SR-71 Blackbird
Me-262
747
Gee Bee
Mig 29 Fulcrum
Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space capsules

I'm planning on heading up there Wednesday morning and spending the day. If I have any time left over, I'll stop at the Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle museum on the way back. It is part of the Antique Powerland Museum located in Brooks, 8 miles north of Salem.

Anyone is welcome to join me.

The MOA has been in contact with the folks at Evergreen and a discount has been established for MOA members from Thursday July 18 - 21st. Be sure to ask about it when you get there!

It is indeed a great place. We did an event there during the Redmond rally in 2010. I understand they have the water park through the old 747 in place now!!

I will be staying at the Rally doing Rally stuff during those days, but I just spoke with Evergreen and a AAA card will get $4 off for up to 4 people and they MIGHT be able to extend the MOA discount a little before the 18th or after the 21st (I need to call them back next week).

For those of you interested in aviation and you are coming down Hwy 101 from the north, check out the air museum at Tillamook. It is an old blimp hanger made out of Redwood. I think they said it is the worlds largest wood structure but don't quote me on that. It is big! 5-6 years ago I had the privilege of watching a P-38 fly out on a test run and land again. That made my whole trip!! Some great aircraft inside to view.

If you do stop at Tillamook, go to the cheese factory. Take the tour, sample some cheese, and most of all, get an ice cream cone. The saliva is running just thinking about it!!!!

Tillimook:)

That's a cool area indeed. The loop coast road around there is REAL NEAT TOO, go ride that:). Lighthouse out there and a skinny little, up and down coast byway right out of Tillimook. Take a camera, you'll need it. Randy

I remember after Redmond 2010 the King and I went to Evergreen museum. The MOA rally discount still was available.

Since I'm going to be riding over 600 miles on the way up to the Rally with you, what makes you think I want to ride the 30 miles to the museum with you?????:hide
