Question Springfield, IL to The Barber, B'ham, AL

Any advice on routes, things to see inroute? Not necessarily M/C.

2002 RT

There is the Superman statue in Metropolis. The murals on the flood wall on Broadway in Paducah. Paducah also has the National Quilt Museum and other historic sites.

Around Kentucky Lake you could ride the "Trace" from Grand Rivers to Rt 68 and then back to I24 or continue on the "Trace" to Dover, Tn. and see Ft. Donnelson National Battlefield. Then connect with Rt. 79 to Clarksville and then I24. However, be advised that the roads around Clarksville are at times very congested. Hope this helps with your planning.

Nashville's a nice town, not much of a destination per se, unless you happen to know someone there.
Graceland is always worth a stop- but looks like it's probably out of your way.
Jack Daniels distillery- BUT it's in a dry county.
Dreamland BBQ has a place in Birmingham, FWIW. I ate at the original one in Tuscaloosa. it was pretty great. I have some [southern] friends who like the one in B-ham.
That's all I got.
