Thread: Cruise control options?

    Cruise control options?

My old BMW had a throttle screw.

New bike (F700 GS) has no such item, I'm surprised to find out.

I've discovered Breakaway, Throttlemeister, Audiovox, Vista Cruise Control.

Have any experience with any of them? Other advice?

I've used Vista Cruise and Throttlemeister throttle locks on my sportbikes over the years. Both were easy to use and worked well. Throttlemeister looked better IMO.

Regarding throttle screws ... if there are Police parts for your bike, there's likely a throttle screw available.

I just bought a new 700GS and put an Atlas lock on it. Works really well.

Does your F700 have bar end weights? If so, try trapping a nylon washer and O-ring behind the throttle and bar end weights.

My dealer also told me the Kaoko system will not work if you have or are planning on getting the handguards.

Yes, I understand that BMW (or add-on) hand guards will change which model of cruise control/throttle lock is used, and might make some systems impossible.

Would the famous Caterpillar yellow o-ring work in this application?

Installed a Rostra electronic cruise on my 1150RT... works fine.
