R1100rs Clutch cable for Bobs BMW Bar Bax

So my stock clutch cable broke today because I've been using bar backs and the cable apparently was a little short. I need a longer clutch cable. Can I use one from either the 1100GS or the 1100RT? Are they longer?
 
I used the stock cable with barbacks on an R1100RSL for >100K miles with no issues. You may be able to reroute the stock cable in the headstock area and/or clip some of BMW's notoriously too-tight zipties to make some more length available.
 
Funny, I just had Bob's bar-backs installed on my 1994 R1100RS just last week at Bob's and apparently a new clutch cable wasn't called for. Had new SS brake cables installed at same time and those were longer than usual.

There are local shops that can do this, motorcycles or cars so you may want to check around locally. Or, check with Terrycable @ 800-854-4691 in California. You would need to send them the old cable in order to get the extended cable made up. I do not know if the mentioned cables will substitute.

I have seen bar backs cause this issue a number of times despite the denials coming from the manufacturer. They are either incompetent or lying when they advise you can work with the standard length cable.

Some kit's really should have a longer cable and some don't need them due to the design of the bar backs.
