I went to the MO. State Rally in Crane, MO. last weekend and couldn`t have had a better time. Great weather and Ozark roads can`t be beat! But to the point. The corporate BMW people want to look like the H-D dealerships when in fact we, the BMW consumer want a dealership that is efficent, clean, informative, and deosn`t take a month to work on your bike in the middle of summer. During a planned ride to Bentonville BMW of ARKANSAS while at the Mo. Rally I found all that and more. Friendliness. The wives of the owners put out a free BBQ after a great morning ride. A bunch of the riders took demo rides on the new K12S and were truly impressed by the civility of the monster and the willingness of the dealer to let people do a demo. We have talked on the forum about problems with dealers so I have two ideas. ONE: How about a permanent thread on dealers and the issues involved in everything from buying a 20 grand bike to a $10 T-shirt. TWO: More positive comments about the quality dealers and the good things they do! Why I bet even Mr. Miller in Tallahasse has his favorite charities he works with. These dealers have to make money but not lose sight of the tradition BMW brings to the table. A lot of the H-D dealers are not doing what they used to do volume and dollar wise because there are only X- amount of people who will ride a motorcycle therefore we must be treated fairly and weed out the bad guys and promote the good.
