FINALLY, bikes don't need a transponder anymore!

IÔÇÖve been wondering for a while now why the heck did they try to sell ("loan on deposit") us the transponders in the first place...?
The HOV lanes were built with Federal funds ÔÇô meaning that bikes are allowed to use them.
Then they changed the name of those very same lanes (except for part of the 91, which was always a ÔÇ£FastTrakÔÇØ setup).
So they need more income from the citizens thank you, State, for your continued gross financial incompetence.
But requiring bikes to have them was nothing short of blatant extortion.
And if you turn the transponder back in to them, they refund that deposit money to you but now that cash you loaned them is worth a bit less.
California grrr
