okay.. .. .. . I s'pose it depends on what you consider "normal".

IT IS BEING SOLD "AS IS" WITH NO WARRANTY.

Yeah, I expect it is.

I'd sure hate to see what he feels is abnormal wear.

No Problem. . .

A little JB Weld, some light abrasives, and all that road-rash will buff right out.

IF this poor lump really has only 5,500 miles (and I DO wonder), and depending on the price. . .could be a steal. Those big bits cost a LOT of dough, in case you've not checked prices lately.

Hmmm, new valve covers, front cover, no shifter visible, so is there anything in the trans. Wonder what else is missing.

no external damage to head itself, hard to tell what internals might be doing with any of those valve cover bits roaming around.
something hinky with dating on that motor- as the air cleaner/intake and starter cover are all post 1978. didn't the clamshell airbox start in '80? (my guess is this is being sold by someone who bought it for salvage, and does not really specifics)

Factor in the hours taking it apart and finding bad lifter bores, mains and rod bearings, etc. IMO. Or maybe give it a turn and listen before making offer.
